BiP's founder and leader, Hector Camberos, has a track record of success that speaks for itself. A few examples:
Hector led the acquisition of DuPont polyester assets in 2001 by the Alfa group. The new Company, DAK Americas LLC, initially consisted of PTA, PET and staple fibers plants in the Carolinas that were obsolete and financially in distress. In the following 10 years under Hector's leadership as CEO, revenues grew at a rate of 25% per year, reaching $3.7 billion by 2011. EBITDA, during the same period grew at an annual rate of 21%. By acquiring Eastman assets in US, Mexico and Argentina, Wellman assets in Alabama and building 3 new polyester plants, DAK Americas became the leading PET producer in the Americas.
In 2018 he led an Alfa Group team that acquired the financially failing Polyester assets of Petrobras in Brazil for $370 million. The turnaround plans put into place have been highly effective with performance exceeding project expectations from every important perspective, including financial, human, commercial and internal processes. Petroquimica Suape, the acquired company was distinguished as the best industrial company of The State of Pernambuco in 2019.
The "QUALITIVITY" PROCESS" which drove the success of these companies was developed by Hector. Trained in the "6 Sigma Process" he has expanded on those principles beyond the production floor to address the reduction of waste in all business processes. Over the past 10 years, this new process was implemented in all Alfa Group businesses in the Americas. The results have been outstanding. For example, in Alfa's Argentina based businesses the "Qualitivity Process" has driven $23 Million of dollars of Value Creation between 2012 and 2019.
